Germany

I can trace my ancestral line back to Germany in the 1600s. It was my great-great grandparents who immigrated to the United States in 1890 that established my maternal ancestry in Ohio. In December of 2023, my family and I family traveled to Germany to visit our homeland, explore modern-day Germany, World War II history, and connect with distant relatives who live on the ancestral homestead. Throughout my travels, I worked with digital and film photography as mediums. This trip was the inspiration behind my short documentary project, The Past from Within, which dives into my heritage and familial past to offer insight, inspiration, and guidance for the future.
