Make a Difference in Southern Africa
During my internship with All Out Africa in Eswatini, I created a documentary-style video that highlights the organization’s mission and the impact of its programs across Southern Africa. The project captures volunteers in action, working alongside local communities, as well as children whose lives are directly touched by these initiatives. By blending authentic storytelling with compelling visuals, the video showcases the dedication of All Out Africa and the transformative role of community-driven development.
A Day In The Life
During my time as an intern with All Out Africa, I created a video that follows the day-to-day experiences of the organization’s volunteers. The piece centers on a Sports volunteer, documenting her full day from breakfast to bedtime. Through this narrative, the video highlights the fun, meaningful, and memorable experiences volunteers have during their time with All Out Africa, offering an authentic look into daily life and the impact of the program.
What is Synod Assembly?
In 2025, I worked with the Northwestern Ohio Synod to create a video that introduces and explains their annual Assembly. The video sets to answer the question, What is Assembly? by showcasing what happens during the event and exploring the deeper meaning behind it. Designed to inform and engage, the video was shared with congregations across Northwest Ohio, offering a clear and welcoming look at the purpose and impact of Assembly.
Northwestern Ohio Synod
I collaborated with the Northwestern Ohio Synod on additional filming and editing projects that highlight the Synod’s work throughout Northwest Ohio. These videos focus on telling the story of the Synod’s mission, showcasing the people, congregations, and communities they support. Through thoughtful editing and intentional visuals, the project helps clearly communicate the impact and purpose of the Synod’s work across the region.
The Past from Within
Logline: With graduation looming, the filmmaker seeks out her ancestral past to guide her future.
For my senior thesis film, I created a deeply personal documentary exploring my family’s history and connection to Germany. The project follows my journey to the hometowns of my great-great-grandparents, who emigrated to the United States in search of a better life. Through visiting the places where they once lived and meeting relatives still in Germany, the film reflects on themes of heritage, memory, and belonging while weaving together past and present through travel and storytelling.
